The Easy Method to Dream Recall

Dream Spheres

The art of dream recall is an elusive one. If you happen to have the luxury of waking up whenever you want, then your chances of remembering your dreams will be higher.

Alas...for most of us, this just isn't the case. Perhaps you have tried some of the traditional methods like keeping a notebook by your bed, or speaking your dream fragments into a recorder?

These are very good methods if you have the discipline to keep it up. However, most people give up after awhile simply because they need their sleep. The best time to use traditional methods is upon arising, when you have to get up anyway.

The Easy method Revealed

Okay, here it is...Dream Anchoring.

Anchoring is a hypnosis trick for remembering something by association. Your mind is highly suggestible during that in between state of waking and sleeping and is great for anchoring on dream recall. Here is how it works:
  • Before settling in and falling asleep, tell yourself that you will remember your dreams.

  • Pick any object in the room that you can see when you first wake up. (lamp, picture or plant etc..)

  • Put a mental 'anchor' on this object saying "When I see this picture (or whatever object you chose) I will remember my dream."

  • Do your anchor anytime you wake up during your sleep time and also when you get up for the day.
That's it! But...(yep, there's always a but..) it will most likely take a few days or more before your mind will comply. You have to remember to anchor and if you keep it up, you will!

More about dream recall...

As with any endeavor in life, good dream recall requires focused intention and practice.

For many of us, we were taught to listen to other people - parents, teachers, preachers, and so on.

The problem is that much of the time, these 'leaders' are not necessarily equipped to lead us with our best interests in mind.

Following your nightly dreams with self-interpretation is a great way to connect with your own inner teacher and learn to trust yourslf.
