Astral Travel vs Lucid Dreaming

Astral traveling on demand is something I’ve always wanted to be able to do, but like a lot of other things in life I didn’t want to take the time to learn how.

I’m sure you’ve read books or heard from others the belief that we all travel within the astral plane when sleeping and our dreams are the translation of these adventures.

For me, this begs the question: What is the association between astral travel during sleep and lucid dreaming?

Let’s assume that we all leave our bodies nightly and access the astral realm to work on our life situations. We do this because our thinking on the astral plane is less rigid and we are able to see things differently.

Developments in the astral are then processed as dream images or symbols which act as the communicator between our subconscious and conscious minds.

When we wake up, our normal awareness takes over and we can hopefully decipher the ideas put forth through our dreams.

If you are lucky, some of your dreams will become lucid dreams. In other words, when you become consciously aware that you are dreaming / astral traveling. We all do this from time to time.

This is a highly desirable state to be in because you are still in that area of open mindedness with access to greater intelligence and creativity. What’s more, because you are semi-conscious you have a measure of control and can do whatever you like without dealing with your physical body.

For instance, I have designed beautiful clothes, invented special machines, flown in space, talked to animals and so on...while lucid dreaming. I’ve also received helpful flashes of insight into current issues in my life.

I imagine astral traveling consciously (on purpose that is), would be sort of like lucid dreaming...and so I'd say lucid dreaming is good enough for me. Astral traveling on purpose isn't necessary.

Besides, developing the ability to dream lucidly more often is probably a more obtainable goal than conscious astral projection.

(By the way...I’ve received a few emails from people who profess to only dream lucidly and view normal dream interpretation as a waste of time. If I had that ability, then I might agree with that!)

There is a pretty good e-book on lucid dream techniques as a free download that you can take a look at. Try out some of the exercises and find one that works for you!
